We take a look at the players with the largest weekly wage packages in the game and uncover the current top 10 in the world.
On the list includes three Paris Saint-German players. The statics were compiled by Radio Times. Note that this statistics and additional fees, payments, or bonuses have been excluded. Also, these are the players with the highest basic salary, not necessarily the highest earners, as endorsement and sponsorship deals are not included.
10. Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)-$483,000 per week.
Lewandowski was named FIFA Men’s Player of the Year in 2020 and has an incredible scoring record as well as a great collection of trophies. The Polish striker is the Bundesliga’s all-time foreign top scorer and has won the German Bundesliga title nine times of his 11 years in the country, twice with Dortmund and seven times with Bayern Munich. His goal-scoring record is enough to earn him a place on the list.
9. David de Gea (Manchester United) – $517,000 per week
De Gea is the goalkeeper with the highest income in the world. Manchester United signed him from Atletico Madrid over ten years ago for a ten Premier League record fee of €25m as per transfer market and he has been the club’s first choice.
8. Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City) – $531,000 per week
The Belgian midfielder is the highest-paid football player in England alongside Ronaldo and has the highest salary at a club with many top earners. De Bruyne has been an outstanding player for the Citizens since his arrival at the etihad stadium and has helped them to win three league titles in his six years at City.
7. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) – $531,000 per week
The Manchester United forward has dropped on this list with his summer transfer from Juventus, where his salary was more than double what he will earn at Old Trafford. Ronaldo retains the position as the joint-top earner in the Premier League. The Portuguese is one of the most famous athletes on the earth and possibly the most popular football player in the world.
6. Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain) – $ 566,000 per week
Mbappé, earns the lowest among the PSG’s top three stars, but still one of the top 10 earners in the world, and is sure to remain on this list for a while, no matter where he is plays his football.
5. Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) – $690,000 per week
Gareth Bale remains one of the highest-paid football players in the game, sneaking into the top five following Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford. Bale’s days on this list may be numbered, but Carlo Ancelotti’s return to Real Madrid may have given the Welshman a second chance at the Santiago Bernabeau.
4. Antoine Griezmann (Barcelona/Atletico Madrid) – $793,000 per week
Following the departure of Lionel Messi, Griezmann is the only representative of Barcelona in the top 10. His high salary is a drag on the Catalan club with his struggles and, after a disappointing few years, he needs to start justifying his salary on the field this season. The Frenchman has since returned to his former club Atletico Madrid on loan from the Catalans.

Probably a surprise to many in the top three, Suárez has shown that Atleti spent their money well and that he can still do it at the highest level. After he left Barcelona, Suárez has excelled, helping Diego Simeone’s side win the La Liga title in his first season.
2. Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain) – $836,000 per week
The second PSG player on the list, Neymar is now second only to his new teammate after Ronaldo was displaced at number two. The Brazilian forward is a world star but cannot compete with Ronaldo in terms of sponsorship deals.
