Three potential Ronald Koeman's replacement at Barcelona

Three potential Ronald Koeman Barcelona replacement.

During the week Barcelona sacked their coach and former player Ronald Koeman following series of poor results. The Catalans suffered an embarrassing 1-0 away loss to newly-promoted La Liga side Rayo Vallecano, as their dismal run of the 2021/22 season continues.

According to the latest report, Barca have appointed Sergi Barjun their Team B coach for the main time, while they shop for who will replace Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.

The Catalans are experiencing a major transformation at the moment and this change will require a manager who can stabilize, control and communicate with the young talents at the club.

The departure of their Superstar Lionel Messi means Barca will have to adjust to life without him. The new manager will need to guide, train and influence the upcoming stars in the club the likes of Ansu Fati, Pedri, Gavi, Rugi Piug, Sergio Dest, and Ousmane Dembele.

Who is replacing Ronald Koeman?

Selecting a new coach will be an uphill task for Barcelona than you think. we take a look at the three possible options.

3. Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag
Ajax Amsterdam manager Erik ten Hag has been identified as a possible candidate for the Barcelona coaching Job. The chances of him leaving the Dutch giants and taking up a new Job is very slim, but we never can tell. Ten Hag is a fantastic manager who specializes in building a new team from the scratch, he was responsible for the Ajax team that made it to the semifinals of the 2018/19 champions league with the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Mathis de Legit, Donny Van de Beek and Hakim Ziyech.

Ten Hag has once again built a squad of amazing youngsters at Ajax Amsterdam, Being the most dominating team in the domestic league and Europe, as they remain unbeaten both in Eredivisie and the group stage of the champions league.
It would be amazing if the Barcelona board were to look in Ten’s direction as he has shown he is capable of developing youngsters and this he can replicate at the club.

2. Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte
Former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte may be a long shoot for the Catalans, considering their financial status. However, Barcelona is an elite club in Europe and any manager would be privileged to work at Camp Nou.

Conte is a brilliant and fantastic manager and has brought success with him, in Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan, winning trophies to show for his success.
The Italian tactician is an energetic and enigmatic person who loves what he does and believes his team will do well once he gets the needed support. Conte’s style of play is a bit different from that of Barcelona, this means the team will have to switch from their traditional 4-2-3-1 to a 3-5-2 formation. with the belief that the defense is more than able to handle things at the back.

The major challenge will be lack of funds. Conte is not good at managing young stars, instead, he demands big funds to purchase established players of his choice. This was one of his main reason for leaving SerieA champions, Inter Milan last summer, and Barca can not afford such large funds, with the financial crisis at the club.
let’s not rule out the possibilities of him taking up the job and being able to work with Barca’s young talents.

1. Xavi Hernandez

Xavi Hernandez
The name on every Barcelona fan’s mouth at the moment is Xavi Hernandez.
The Blaugrana legend was tipped to take over the job when Quique Setien was sacked, but that was not to be as the board preferred Koeman who has experience in Europe having managed Everton, Southampton, and the Dutch national team over Xavi with his good record having only managed in Middle East Asia.

The decision to choose the Dutchman over the Spaniard looks to have backfired. Many fans across the world have called for the appointment of Xavi Hernandez as the next Barcelona coach.

According to famous Football Journalist Fabrizio, the Barca board has already decided on the next manager and according to him, it is Xavi. For now, the first team will be managed by the former B team manager and Xavi will be announced as the manager soon.

However, there are still many other options, but it looks like Barcelona have made up their mind in bringing back Xavi to Camp Nou.

Xavi’s managerial style has been compared to that of Pep Guardiola and if all goes as planned, he may raise a group of a golden generation with the current Barcelona team.

Who do you tip to take over as the new Barcelona coach?
