David James chooses a player who could be the ‘hero’ of Liverpool’s Champions League final against Real Madrid
Luis Diaz has been lauded by David James. David James predicts who will be the “hero” of the UEFA Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Luis Diaz, according to former Liverpool goalkeeper David James, might be the Reds’ hero in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final versus Real Madrid in Paris.
Liverpool will face Real Madrid for the European crown at the Stade de France, hoping to finish the season with three titles.
Meanwhile, Luis Diaz, who joined Liverpool from FC Porto in January, has made an immediate impact. He played a major role in the team’s very successful finish to the season, scoring six goals and assisting five times in 25 games across all competitions.
In the UEFA Champions League semifinals versus Villarreal, his second-half cameo was crucial in the Reds’ 5-2 aggregate victory.
Now, according to James, Diaz might be the hero versus Real Madrid on May 28.
In this regard, the former England international told talkSPORT:
“I adore him, and what I adore about him is that there’s always room for improvement, and he’s already so good that he can improve even more.”
“If you’ve got Diaz, you know he’s going to go on his right or go low on the floor with his left because he hasn’t got the confidence with his left. He would rather use the outside of his right foot than his left foot.
However, James said:
“If you work on it, then all of a sudden he’s going to approach defenders and they’re not going to know which was he’s going to go.
“He could be the Liverpool hero by the end of the game on Saturday. I think of all the players, he’s got the skills to actually cause Real Madrid loads of problems.”
