Liverpool summer target Aurelien Tchouameni  reveals the reason he couldn’t join the club

Despite interest from both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, Aurelien Tchouameni has been officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player, and he has justified his decision to join the La Liga and Champions League champions.

This summer, a number of top European teams were linked with a move for the youngster, but it was evident that he wanted to move to Spain.

Tchouameni was identified as a target by Liverpool, but according to reports, his representative told the club’s recruitment department of his wish to join Real Madrid.

The French midfielder has completed his £85 million move to the Bernabeu after completing his medical earlier this week, and he says he ‘didn’t hesitate’ when Real Madrid approached him.

He told the media on Tuesday: “I had the chance to choose other clubs, yes – but as soon as I knew Real Madrid wanted me, I never doubted.

“Kylian decided to stay at PSG and he already knew that I was going to leave Monaco and wanted to know if I could go to PSG, but I told him I wanted Madrid and he understood perfectly.

“When Madrid called, I didn’t hesitate and I talked about it with my family. In the Champions League final there were already negotiations between me and Real Madrid.

” And it is true that when I watched the games against PSG and Man City, I wrote to my agent and told him: do everything possible to take me there, please.”

Liverpool quickly shifted their focus and they are on the verge of completing their first major summer signing. Darwin Nunez of Benfica is in England for medical checks ahead of his £64.1 million move to Anfield.
