“Love this player” – Jose Enrique picks his favourite Liverpool player in current squad and backs him to shine next season
Former Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique has named the reds sensational signing and Colombian winger Luis Diaz as his favorite current Reds player.
The 25-year-old winger only joined the Reds in January, but his direct style of play has already made him a fan favorite.
Diaz’s playing style is also something Enrique admires. Other Liverpool stars on his list of favorite Reds players include Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker. Jose Enrique’s favorite Reds player in the current roster, according to Twitter:
“Difficult mate because this season is many to choose from but since January I love the way Luis Diaz play.
“That kind of winger that goes 1vs1 and try to take you. Love this player but is many to choose from. Vvd is top, Alisson.. etc.”
Luis Diaz joined Liverpool in January for a cost of roughly £37 million from FC Porto in Portugal. Since then, the winger has made an impression on the left side of the field.
Diaz appeared in 26 games for the Reds in the second part of the 2021-22 season, scoring six goals and assisting five times.
It’s difficult to choose this season because there are so many good players, but I’ve been a fan of Luis Diaz’s style of play since January.
That type of winger that goes one-on-one with you and tries to take you down. This player is one of my favorites, but there are so many to select from. Alisson, Vvd is the best.
Diaz started all three cup finals in which the Reds competed last season, including the UEFA Champions League final, which they lost 1-0 to Real Madrid.
Because Diaz was so important to the first squad, Jurgen Klopp moved Sadio Mane to the center of the field to keep the former on the wing.
Liverpool have bolstered their attack ahead of the 2022-23 season. Prior to the 2022-23 season, Liverpool has added two attackers to their ranks.
The Reds have announced the signings of Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho and SL Benfica’s Darwin Nunez. Nunez was signed for a sum of £64 million, with the possibility of an increase to about £85 million.
Meanwhile, Mane has been linked with a summer transfer away from Anfield. According to renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the 30-year-old attacker has verbally agreed to a three-year contract with Bayern Munich.
Salah’s contract has one year left on it, and he might leave the club next summer.
