Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag sends warning message to Liverpool ahead of clash

Manchester United will face Liverpool in Bangkok on Tuesday and Erik ten Hag has sent a message to Premier League rivals ahead of the preseason clash

United new bods, Erik ten Hag insists that Manchester United must aim to win every game they play ahead of the opening preseason clash with Liverpool in Bangkok.

In front of a packed Rajamangala Stadium on Tuesday, the Dutchman will take control of his first United match against a familiar opponent in Thailand.

United arrived in Bangkok on Saturday and will face Jurgen Klopp’s team, who arrived a day later, in a match for the Century Cup.

Being Ten Hag’s first match in charge he will most likely try out new faces for the Red Devils after the summer transfer acquisition.

“Playing against Liverpool is always exciting, it’s a big game, we are looking forward and it’s a really good test for us,” he said.

“The standard of Manchester United is to win every game so we will start with that in mind and be determined and we are happy to play this game in Bangkok for many, many fans.”

Ten Hag is already having an impact on the training ground and players are enjoying his sessions, with the 52-year-old keen to use the time to develop a playing style at the club.

“We just started [training], some players only one week, now we have to construct a team and a way of playing, we are really short in pre-season but of course, we have to develop a lot more,”

The match between Man United and Liverpool is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at 2:00 pm Uk time.
