“I love Liverpool but” – Liverpool sent strong transfer message as Real Madrid takes final decision on £75m midfield superstar as jurgen klopp is given approval to sign a new midfielder
Real Madrid midfielder superstar midfielder Federico Valverde has been the subject of a £75 million offer from an unnamed Premier League team, according to the Spanish publication El Debate.
Valverde is just one of the numerous midfielders that Liverpool has been linked with this summer.
The report claims that a Premier League team has made Valverde a £75 million (€ 90 million) offer.
While it is unclear which English club made the offer, it is most likely one of the so-called “Big Six” or Newcastle, as they have the financial wherewithal.
However, it is also stated that Real rejected the offer because they see Valverde as “untouchable,” given that they extended his contract last year until 2027, meaning he has five years remaining to go and will need to be sold for a high price.
Prior to Monday’s match against United, Jurgen Klopp’s team lost Keita to an injury along with Thiago, Curtis Jones, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The German had to start a midfield three of James Milner, Jordan Henderson, and Harvey Elliot with Fabinho on the bench.
In addition, Sportime journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos stated that Liverpool would now search for a new midfielder in light of the mounting pressure on Klopp and FSG to make other transfers in order to bolster the team following the 2-1 loss in the north west derby.
The Reds have recently been linked with a number of players, including Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion, to provide additional coverage in that position.
However, it appears as though their hand may have been forced ahead of next week’s transfer deadline day after yet another injury.
