As the window closes, news sources continue to suggest that Liverpool is interested in signing a midfielder.

The versatile midfielder Marcos Llorente of Atletico Madrid is currently being linked to Liverpool, which would be a fantastic deal for the Reds.

The Spanish international could be permitted to leave the club before the deadline on September 1st at 11PM, according to the Spanish daily Fichajes, who claims that Liverpool is considering his prospective entrance.

He only recently extended his contract, which runs until 2027, so the move appears unlikely.

He has been an important member of the Atletico team, but the report suggests that because manager Diego Simeone uses him in a variety of places, he may go.

The midfielder, who is currently valued at £40.5M, is still only 27 years old and is arguably the most adaptable top-tier player in Europe.

He has experience playing as a shadow striker, central midfielder, attacking midfielder, right-back, and right wing-back while at Atletico.

Even more impressive is the fact that he has occasionally excelled in each of those roles.
