Liverpool transfer: Jaap Stam claims Top premier league teams are targeting Liverpool star this season

Jaap Stam has claimed that Top Premier League teams are targeting Trent Alexander-Arnold in games this season.

This season, Alexander-Arnold has struggled at times for Liverpool and is no longer a surefire starter.

When playing right-back this season, Jurgen Klopp has occasionally chosen James Milner or Joe Gomez, and his defensive frailties have been shown.

Alexander-Arnold, according to former Manchester United player Stam, has been targeted by opposition teams, which is why Liverpool is yet to win a game away from home this season and has given up a lot more goals than they typically would have at this point in the season.

“Maybe oppositions are looking at them a lot more, in terms of ‘where are their weaknesses?’.

“You see a lot, when Alexander-Arnold plays, a lot of teams are playing on that side and taking advantage and creating opportunities.

“so they need to get things right to start competing for the Champions League spots,” said Stam, speaking to Match of the Day Extra, as relayed by HITC.

There is no question that Alexander-Arnold is more effective attacking the ball than he is protecting it, and many people contend that his attacking play is superior to his defensive play.

Alexander-Arnold has occasionally been exposed as a result of having to defend more than normal because Liverpool isn’t as dominant in games as they once were.
