Liverpool star keen to sign new contract with current deal expiring next summer
Liverpool forward is reportedly keen to sign a new contract with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
In recent years, Firmino has been crucial to Liverpool’s success. Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Firmino made up Jurgen Klopp’s front three, which helped Liverpool win the Premier League and the Champions League.
The dangerous three is gradually dissipating now that Mane has left the club and Firmino’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
But, according to Football Insider, Firmino wants to extend his deal with Liverpool past the summer.
Even though Darwin Nunez was added during the summer transfer window, Firmino is still essential to Liverpool. Nunez is still very young and hasn’t reached his full potential, therefore Firmino still has a chance to play frequently for Liverpool.
Nunez could gain a lot from regularly seeing Firmino, so signing the Brazilian to a new contract would be a wise choice.
