According to reports, Mason Mount, a star for Chelsea, is a target for the Reds. The 23-year-current old’s contract is slated to expire at the conclusion of the upcoming season, and rumors about his future are growing.

The Guardian reported that, with an eye on a prospective transfer, Liverpool is “kept track” of Mount’s contract negotiations with Chelsea. The same rumor indicates that Juventus, an Italian powerhouse, is also interested in the midfielder.

Additionally, it has been asserted that Liverpool was made aware of Chelsea’s plan to postpone contract negotiations with Mount until after the World Cup.

According to the article, the Reds, who are looking to bolster their midfield, are keeping a watch on how Mount’s future plays out.

One player who has played for both Chelsea and the Reds has given their opinion of Mount, who is the most recent player to be connected to a transfer to Liverpool.

Raheem Sterling went from Anfield to Manchester City in 2015 and stayed there for seven years until moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Sterling, who played 129 times for Liverpool, is now Mount’s teammate for both his club and his country. The 27-year-old explained Mount’s potential to be among the finest midfielders in Europe earlier this week.

“Mason, another top trainer, and a player that’s got a high potential ceiling,” Sterling told GQ Sport . “A player that’s been producing for Chelsea and with the national team.

“He is a player that we are definitely going to need in the future because he has all the qualities to be one of the very best midfielders.”
