Liverpool recieve Transfer blow as Borussia Dortmund make shock Jude Bellingham decision
Borussia Dortmund are ready to make Jude Bellingham the highest-paid player in the club’s history to fend off interest from Liverpool
Borussia Dortmund is prepared to make Jude Bellingham, a target of Liverpool, the highest-paid player in the team’s history, according to 90min (h/t Liverpool Echo), in order to deter interest from elite clubs.
Bellingham has been one of Liverpool’s top targets during the summer transfer window, but it appears that Dortmund wants to keep hold of their prized asset for at least another year.
Bellingham’s current contract with the Bundesliga club expires in June 2025, and Dortmund has made him an offer for a new one that may make the England international the highest-paid player in club history.
“Dortmund would like for Bellingham to sign a new contract that would make him the highest-paid player in their history if he stayed in Germany for another season.
One which would also include a generous release clause.”
This would be a blow to Jurgen Klopp and the recruitment team as all our hopes have practically been placed upon signing Bellingham at the forefront of our rebuild.
Fabrizio Romano believes Jude Bellingham remains the top Liverpool target among other midfielders.
On the other hand, losing out on a top-four finish and UEFA Champions League qualification could also play a part in Bellingham’s decision.
Somehow the lack of investment in midfield in the previous transfer windows is coming to bite us back with a possibility of us losing out on our primary targets.
