Donny van de Beek’s agent gives the latest update on his future amid January exit rumors

Donny van de Beek’s dispute with his former agent could cost him the chance to leave Manchester United in January.

Van de Beek had hoped to join Everton during the summer transfer window but, once the move collapsed, he chose to part ways with agent Guido Albers in favour of working with Ali Dursan, who was tasked with finding him an escape route from Old Trafford in January.

Unfortunately, The Mirror notes that Dursan is not technically allowed to work on behalf of Van de Beek as Albers has refused to accept the termination of his contract with the midfielder.

It’s claimed that Van de Beek signed a binding contract with Albers’ agency 18 months ago and his desire to terminate the agreement has been rejected, meaning Van de Beek is still represented by Albers.

The deal with Albers does not expire until the end of the season when Dursan would be free to assume control of Van de Beek’s business.

So, as it stands, nobody is actually working on getting Van de Beek out of Manchester as interested clubs cannot legally deal with Dursan while the 24-year-old remains under contract with other representatives.

Van de Beek has played just 67 minutes in the Premier League this season across seven separate appearances, all but one of which lasted ten minutes or under.

He is yet to play more than four minutes in a match under new United boss Ralf Rangnick, whose switch to a 4-2-2-2 formation does not exactly play to Van de Beek’s strengths.
