Erling Haaland drops cryptic message over the future of Liverpool target Jude Bellingham
Manchester City’s new signing Erling Haaland was asked in an interview during his unveiling if Jude Bellingham will join him in England
Before moving to Manchester City, Erling Haaland admitted that he and Jude Bellingham, a former teammate at Borussia Dortmund, spoke about England “a lot.”
Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the England international, and Bellingham has been strongly considering a move to Liverpool.
But given that Dortmund is rumoured to have set a £103 million price tag on their top asset, the Reds don’t think there will be any room for negotiating with the Bundesliga team this summer.
With his options for the midfield heading into the next campaign, Jurgen Klopp is likewise happy. But it seems likely that the Liverpool manager will be interested if Bellingham is available in the market in the coming summer.
The loss of Dortmund’s other top player, Haaland, to the Premier League champions hasn’t aided the Reds’ chances of signing the 19-year-old.
speaking at his unveiling as a Man City player, Haaland was quizzed about his relationship with Bellingham: “Yes (he was my best mate), he was a good guy.
“We talked a lot about it (staying) and in the end, we talked about England as a country and everything and hopefully, he’s happy for me.”
A reporter then asked Haaland if he thinks Bellingham will be back playing his football in England next summer: “Good question,” the Norway international replied with a laugh. “We will have to see.”
