Fabrizio Romano drops update on kaide Gordon’s Liverpool Transfer Clause
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool has bought out their sell-on clause from Kaide Gordon’s deal from Derby County.
GORDON SELL-ON CLAUSE
On Monday, Romano announced on Twitter that Liverpool had paid £500,000 to remove the 20% sell-on provision that was initially included in the transaction. According to the journalist:
“Excl. Liverpool have agreed to pay £500,000 to remove the 20% sell-on clause from Kaide Gordon’s transfer from Derby County.
“LFC Been told Liverpool and Derby County have agreed to pay £500,000 to remove the 20% sell-on clause from the original contract.”
This is Liverpool being clever in transfer market activity, ensuring that they won’t have to pay Derby a large sum if they decide to move Gordon in the future.
However, with Virgil van Dijk describing him as a ‘wonderful talent,’ the aim is that the teenager becomes a superstar at Anfield and that the Reds will never actively want to transfer him.
kaide Gordon has impressed anytime he’s been given the chance, with a strong left foot and a keen eye for goal, while a tally of seven goals and three assists in ten outings for Liverpool’s under-18s highlights his potential.
