Gavi could be a Liverpool star for ’10 years’ after journalist’s transfer update
Former Premier league star Campbell has made a shocking claim stating Barcelona midfielder Gavi would be a “brilliant” signing for Liverpool next year.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said the 18-year-old is “technically gifted and knows where the back of the net is.”
Gavi is now in the final year of his deal with Barcelona
According to Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, the midfielder’s agent has a “new contract proposal on the table” but “has not accepted yet,” according to L’Esportiu (25 May).
Bayern Munich has reportedly joined Liverpool and Manchester United in the competition for the Spain international, according to Bild’s Christian Falk (4 September).
The team of Jurgen Klopp has been under fire for not adding a significant midfielder during the summer transfer window.
Gavi would be a welcome addition at Anfield, Campbell responded when asked by Football Insider: “Gavi is a really good young player.
“He is technically gifted and knows where the back of the net is. If he comes onto the market there will be quite a few clubs coveting him.
‘He is a brilliant player and is one who would definitely improve that Liverpool team. He could be at the club for five to 10 years as well.
“I would expect Liverpool to be knocking on the door if he was to become available.”
Gavi has impressed for Barcelona this season.
He has made five appearances across all competitions, three of which have been starts.
