“Go break the bank” – Liverpool told to secure transfer for Sensational midfield duo after Chelsea hijack Mudryk deal
Don Hutchison has told Liverpool to ‘break the bank’ for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, after Chelsea hijacked the transfer of Mykhailo Mudryk.
After owner Todd Boehly acted quickly to sign the 22-year-old, who was set to join Arsenal, the former Liverpool midfielder tweeted “fair play to Chelsea.”
Despite struggling this season and currently sitting in tenth place in the Premier League table, Chelsea, then under the direction of Thomas Tuchel, spent well over £200 million on players in the summer.
However, despite their struggles this season, they aren’t stopping there and are continuing to spend more money on players.
They just agreed to pay Joao Felix £650k a week for a six-month loan from Atletico Madrid, but the Portuguese star later had his debut sent off.
And it’s now been suggested that the transfer fee Chelsea are paying Shakhtar Donetsk for Mudryk is £89 million (Sky Sports) – a price the current Premier League leaders simply refused to match.
