“He could be leaving Liverpool” – Pundit hints Liverpool superstar to be on his way out after poor performance at old Trafford

Former Man City player Trevor Sinclair, made some predictions on Roberto Firmino’s future at Liverpool, claiming that the Brazilian star could leave the club in 2023.

Darwin Nunez was acquired by Liverpool this summer for a rumoured amount of €75 million (via Transfermarkt), and he is anticipated to play in the majority of their games.

They also have Diogo Jota at their disposal, who gives the Reds’ offense the much-needed directness.

Firmino began in the 2-1 Premier League loss to Manchester United on Monday (August 22), with Nunez sitting out due to a red card he received against Crystal Palace, and Jota out with a hamstring issue.

The Brazilian international played almost invisibly and did nothing particularly noteworthy.

After the game, Sinclair discussed Firmino’s future and said that he might leave the Merseysiders in the upcoming summer. The former England international spoke on TalkSPORT (via HITC):

“I think Firmino could be leaving the football club. Nunez is their star striker (these days). But he’s put himself out the picture.

“I think Liverpool are in a bad way. I don’t think they’ll be competing unless they get some signings in, especially in midfield.”

Roberto Firmino joined Jurgen Klopp’s side from Hoffenheim in 2015 and has thus far played 330 games for them, recording 98 goals and 74 assists. His current contract with the Reds expires in June 2023.
