‘I hope’ – Liverpool midfielder Fabinho makes Manchester United dig regarding Casemiro transfer from Real
Fabinho has disclosed that Casemiro, a teammate from Brazil, had discussed playing in the Premier League before finalizing his £70 million transfer to Manchester United in the summer.
The two are currently training with their respective national teams in Qatar in preparation for the World Cup.
Our No. 3 said the former Real Madrid favorite “went to the wrong place” at Old Trafford and expressed his hope that the signing “doesn’t improve” the Red Devils too much.
“He had already commented that he’d like to play in the Premier League,” Fabinho told UOL (via Rousing The Kop). “Too bad he went to the wrong place in England, huh?
“I hope he doesn’t improve Manchester United that much. He, Fred, Antony, there are a lot of Brazilians going to the wrong place in the country.”
Fabinho may have gotten off to a sluggish start for Jurgen Klopp’s team this season, but in previous years, he has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.
The former AS Monaco midfielder has been an essential member of our team since he joined us from the Ligue 1 team in 2018, but so far this season, he hasn’t quite provided the same level of protection to our defense that he frequently does.
The Reds, though, are hoping that he can return from the World Cup in top shape and have a strong second half of the season.
After winning 15 major championships with the team from the Spanish capital, including five Champions League titles, Casemiro is also acknowledged as a top-tier deep-lying midfielder.
