“I love Liverpool but…” – Watch Firmino gives updates on his immediate Liverpool future
In regards to Roberto Firmino Liverpool future at Anfield, Sir Kenny Dalglish has added more light and set a deadline for Liverpool to go.
Stewart Downing believes Roberto Firmino will leave Anfield after the current season since he has one year left on his contract with Liverpool.
Next season, Roberto Firmino is expected to leave Liverpool.
This summer, with Sadio Mane joining Bayern Munich, the infamous front three of Liverpool began to fall apart. After six years on Merseyside, the 30-year-old has left Anfield to join the Bundesliga’s top club in a £35 million move.
Mane’s contract at Liverpool was originally set to expire next summer until he finalized his move to Bayern. The same is true for Firmino, whose contract with the club is entering its final year.
The upcoming season, according to former Reds midfielder Stewart Downing, who Sir Kenny Dalglish recruited for £20 million in 2011, could be the Brazilian’s last at Anfield.

“Towards the end of last season, Roberto Firmino didn’t play as often as he would like. He was a regular at one point and played nearly every game,” Downing is quoted telling 360 Sports TV for the Masters Cup, via The Express .
“It’s the cycle of football. Diogo Jota came in and surprised everyone. I knew he was a good player, but he got goals and hit the ground running.
“Then there’s Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Luis Díaz, who got shifted into the side ahead of Firmino.
“You’ve always got to be at the top of your game for clubs like Liverpool because they need to keep progressing, it will be interesting to see.
“I hope Darwin Nunez hits the ground running, but I see Firmino being a back-up player to him.
“If they can get Firmino back to the form he was at a couple of seasons ago, it’s another great dimension for Liverpool, but it will probably be his last year, or he might do until January.”
