“I want to finish my career at Liverpool” – Reds superstar hints at future plans
Liverpool star has stated that he hopes to finish his career at the club but has not ruled out another move.
One of the better transfers the Reds have made under Jurgen Klopp has been Andy Robertson, who has been with the Merseyside club since 2017.
Since then, Robertson has helped Liverpool win everything; he has played 232 games in all competitions for the Premier League club, giving Klopp’s squad 8 goals and an amazing 55 assists.
Although the left-back has already said he wants to retire at Liverpool, he has not ruled out moving to another team that holds a special place in his heart.
“Ideally I want to finish my career at Liverpool, if I can stay at the top of my game for my whole career, that’s the route I’ll go down,” Robertson told BT Sport.
However, if sometime down the line Robertson starts to lose his place in Liverpool’s first 11, the Scotland international has not ruled out a move to Celtic, which he considers a dream.
“I always dreamt of giving my best years to Celtic,” Robertson said about growing up a Hoops fan and stated about a future move to Celtic Park:
“I don’t want to go as a 34/35-year-old guy that my uncles start hating on because I can’t move anymore so look, time will tell.”
Robertson loves both clubs, as is evident from the interview, but it seems more likely that the Scotland star will play for Celtic before hanging up his boots.
When the 28-year-old talks about Celtic Park, his face lights up, and it is obvious that the Scottish man is living the dream.
Having said that, there is also a chance that the left-back retires at Anfield if he manages to continue playing at a high level long into his thirties.
