Ian Wright attributes Mikel Arteta's Arsenal revival to three key players

Ian Wright has attributed the rejuvenation of  Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side to the performance of three key players.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has credited the club’s recent good form under coach Mikel Arteta to three key players.

The Gunners suffered three consecutive defeats at the early stage of the season, but things look to have taken a new turn as Mikel Arteta’s side are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League games.

Arsenal are currently in the 5th position on the Premier League table with 20 points from 11 games.

Aaron Ramsdale has played a key part in between the sticks with Arteta choosing their summer signing over Bernd Leno.

Ian Wright believes Ramsdale, Ben White, and Gabriel Magalhaes forming a solid partnership, have helped the team find stability at the back.

“I love the fact even with Benjamin White when he’s coming out and he said: ‘I don’t watch much football, I just play football’,’ he said on the Kelly and Wrighty Show.

“I love the fact that he’s brave enough and strong enough to admit that because he can deal with what comes with that.

“But when you look at his performances next to Gabriel, it’s very solid with the goalkeeper. It’s a very good team, those three are very solid.

“They’re footballing center-halves – into Thomas Partey, into [Albert] Sambi Lokonga.

“Now Arsenal are looking like, with the structure and the way the team is playing, you can see if it has to go long they’ll do that, but if a defender has to run it into the midfield and then go from there, we saw Ben White setting up Emile Smith Rowe’s goal the other day.”

Arsenal’s defence will be put to test when they make the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on November 20.
