“I’ll give him a call” – Latest Liverpool signing Darwin Nunez explains the kind of message he will send to Luis Suarez Darwin Nunez
According to The Guardian, Darwin Nunez has stated that he will contact former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez for encouragement and advise when he joins the Reds on a six-year deal worth £85 million.
Liverpool secured their first signing of the season when they agreed to terms with Benfica for the 22-year-old Uruguayan striker..
Nunez was a standout performer for the Portuguese club in the recently finished Premeira Liga season, scoring 34 goals and assisting on four occasions. Nunez was one of the most sought-after transfer targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
Nunez, who is Uruguayan by birth, has had the opportunity to play in the national squad alongside former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. Suarez is one of the most successful strikers in the world, and the young star may learn a thing or two about the Premier League’s problems.
Darwin Nunez on Luis Suarez:
“I’ve not had a chance to be in touch with him just yet. But I’m sure when everything comes out on social media, I’ll give him a call or I’ll send him a photo that I’ve taken where he’s there in the background in a picture.”
When asked if he has had the opportunity to speak with Luis Suarez since his arrival to Anfield, Nunez told the Liverpool Echo:
“No, not yet, I’ve not had a chance to be in touch with him just yet. But I’m sure when everything comes out on social media, I’ll give him a call or I’ll send him a photo that I’ve taken where he’s there in the background in a picture.”
Nunez believes he will receive valuable advise from Suarez, who has left an indelible effect on Liverpool’s history during his time there. Nunez continued:
“I’ll send that to him and we’ll have a bit of a chat and I’ll ask him lots of questions so he can offer his support and help because he’s a real reference to me because he’s a Uruguayan footballer who made history at Liverpool. But, for sure, I’ll get the opportunity soon to call him and have a chat with him.”
