Liverpool have been linked with so many to top rated midfielders of late and these rumours have led to one midfield target who commented on the links attaching him with a move to Anfield.

Speaking to Danish news outlet Bold, Celtic star Matt O’Riley said:

“I’m really happy to be at the club, where we will also play in the Champions League, which I’m really looking forward to.

“That’s huge.‎ I’m surprised by the interest from those clubs, so it’s crazy to think about if something were to happen.

“But if it doesn’t get more concrete, then that’s just news to me. ‎So I’m conscious and have heard about the interest from some of the big clubs, but I have to admit it’s not something that I think much about”.

These remarks imply that the 21-year-old is shocked by the interest, and given that he called the links “crazy,” it is likely that he wouldn’t be opposed to moving to Anfield.

It’s crucial to remember that the midfielder is being associated with a number of other teams as well, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and many others.

However, it’s difficult to imagine that the former MK Dons player would reject Jurgen Klopp’s advances if he decides to pick up the phone and speak to him.

This would be a move that is much more likely to be sponsored by FSG given the expected transfer fee of roughly £20 million, and it would allow us to improve our dwindling midfield alternatives.

We would need to act swiftly to close a deal because there are just a few days left in the window, so this may be something to keep an eye on.

The transfer window’s final few days this summer are likely to be very active!
