“He would be better off playing elsewhere” International coach insists Liverpool star should leave Anfield.

Liverpool striker Divock origi has been told by Roberto Martinez to leave the Premier League club, with the 2022 Qatar World Cup less than a year away, according to Het Nieuwsblad.

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp feels there is a receptive market for an “Origi”; The My Story paperback book, even if the Belgian’s biography would be a somewhat unsatisfying sock filler on Christmas morning.

It’s not often that a forward who averages fewer than five starts in a league season can be considered a true club legend. But Origi doesn’t conform to football rules.

Happy to sit on the sidelines and wait for his opportunity, the former Lille player, seizes those rare opportunities when presented to him.

“He’s an incredible striker,” Klopp smiled after a result which saw Liverpool leapfrog Chelsea in the Premier League table, via Sky Sports.

“He’s one of the best finishers I’ve ever seen in my life. In this great team, with our (front) three, he doesn’t play all the time but he is a very positive boy, loves the club, wants to contribute, and he did incredibly.

“For different reasons, he has not played that often. But I hope one day he finds a manager that plays him more than I do.”

As Per Het Nieuwsblad, Belgian manager Roberto Martinez has been trying “for some time” to convince Origi that it would be better to play week after week elsewhere rather than put a permanent grove on Liverpool’s bench.

Origin is yet to find the back of the net for the Belgium senior national team since making his debut in 2014.
