Klopp Personally requests for out of favour Real Madrid forward.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has “personally’ requested that the club move to sign £50m rated Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic according to reports.
The 23-year-old has endured a tough time at Madrid, following his big-money move from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019.
He has only found the back of the net twice in his 38 appearances for Los Blancos.
The Reds have a dreaded attacking trio in Mohammad Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino, with Diogo Jota and unreliable Divock Origi being the only backup.
But, according to reports from Fichajes, Klopp has ‘personally requested’ that the club make an offer for Jovic to bolster his forward options.
Liverpool are not the only club linked with Jovic, Premier League rivals Arsenal are also reportedly interested in signing him as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette who is on his way out of the club by the end of the season.
Jovic first joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, but found life at the Spanish capital difficult with two goals in his debut season, only to return to Bundesliga on loan and fared well.
The striker returned to Madrid, but has struggled, failing to score in six appearances, and has fallen in the pecking order behind, Mariano Diaz and Karim Benzema under coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The only positive for Jovic is that he is just 23 years of age, and yet to reach his peak and could revive his career under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
