Latest Tottenham injury news as four players out for Liverpool amid Hugo Lloris update
Liverpool play Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday in what is a must-win game for both sides. We have all the latest on Spurs’ injury news coming into the game.
Liverpool will go into the game on a high, considering their wins against Leeds, Nottingham Forest and West Ham, while Tottenham couldn’t be going into the game any worse, with their last outing a 2-2 home draw against Man united and 6-1 humilating lost to Newcastle united earlier.
On the injury front, how do Spurs position up going into the Liverpool game?
Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who had to go off at half-time in the demolition by Newcastle, could feature against Liverpool after missing his side’s game against Manchester United on Thursday. Interim boss Ryan Mason says the prospects of Lloris playing are mixed.
“For the game on Thursday, we are still unsure,” Mason said (via football.london) when asked if Lloris would be available for their game against United. “Obviously he had a muscle problem so we are still seeing how that is settling down. Time will tell.”
Emerson Royal is still out after having surgery on his meniscus in March. The former Barcelona defender could make his return following the Liverpool clash.
Midfielders Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur remain sidelined with long-term injuries, with former Juventus player Bentancur out for the season after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Ryan Sessegnon is also expected to be out, having not featured since early February.
Ben Davies nevertheless might make a comeback to the starting line-up after being put on the bench against Newcastle and Man United, while Clément Lenglet was back in the side after making his recovery from injury.
