Latest Update on Sadio Mane injury after he limped off in World Cup qualifier

Sadio Mane’s injury is ‘nothing serious’ after he was taken off in Senegal’s Group H world cup qualifier against Togo.

The Liverpool forward limped off after feeling some discomfort following an aerial challenge against a Togo defender on Thursday evening.

The news would have given many Liverpool fans some injury scares, as the forward was substituted in the 28th minute, replaced by Villarreal’s Boulaye.

However, Senegal’s coach Aliou Cisse has revealed that the former Southampton star was withdrawn as a precautionary measure.

Speaking after the match Aliou Cisse said “We took him off as a precaution and there is nothing serious.
“destabilised us … he is an important player for the team”.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, will be relieved, having already lost two of his attacking options in Harvey Elliot (dislocated Ankle) in September and Roberto Firmino ( hamstring Injury) sustained last week in the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

The Reds injury list also currently contains James Milner, Naby Keïta, Curtis Jones, and Joe Gomez.

Liverpool went on the international break on the back of a 3-2 defeat to West Ham United and will look to bounce back to winning ways when they host in-form Arsenal on 20, November 2021.
