Liverpool dealt shocking Erling Haaland transfer blow
Liverpool Fc have been dealt a shocking blow in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland, according to reports in Spain.
Erling Haaland is widely reported to have a release clause of about £70m that will become active in the summer, attracting interest from Europe’s top elite clubs.
Liverpool have long been linked with the 22-year-old, along with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich – but the latest reports suggest he could move to La Liga.
The Mirror quotes a report from Spanish outlet Diario AS that claims Haaland told a group of locals in Marbella, when approached and asked about his future: “I will play here, in Spain.”
When speaking about Haaland last month, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said, “The only thing I know is that Real Madrid are very interested in his signing. I could name you other 25 teams, but I know for a fact that Madrid are interested.”
