Liverpool FC Latest injury update and expected return dates for the reds duo
Liverpool FC are quite close to having a full healthy squad ahead of their Premier League fixture with Brighton on Saturday following their Champions League tie with Inter Milan at Anfield.
Liverpool will be returning to premier league action when they visit Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday’s early at the AMEX Stadium.
The Anfield outfit will be looking to secure their eighth consecutive premier league win and to keep the pressure up on table toppers Manchester City by closing the gap to just three points.
Roberto Firmino
The Brazilian international Roberto Firmino could return to the Liverpool squad against Brighton on Saturday.
Roberto Firmino was looking to be fit as he hoped to return to the champions league action on Tuesday night with Inter Milan but he was left out as he steps up his recovery from injury.
Firmino hasn’t actually played for the reds since scoring in the first leg at the San Siro on February 16, after he picked up a groin injury ahead of the Premier League clash with Norwich City just three days later.
But the 30-year-old returned to training last week and it is expected that he will make his long-awaited return to the Liverpool squad for their trip to Brighton on Saturday, should he avoid any further setbacks.
Speaking on Monday, Klopp said: “With Bobby, it was longer out, it was [his] first session, so we have to see if we have to stress that or if it makes probably sense to give him just a few more days with proper training.”
Ibrahima Konate
Ibrahima Konate was left out against Inter Milan on Tuesday after picking up a knock and was ruled out of the champions league fixture with Inter Milan.
The severity of the injury is currently unknown and he was not present for Liverpool’s training session on Monday.
However with Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip available for the game against the Serie A side inter Milan, it most likely allowed Konate time off to fully recover, but it can be expected that he will once again be involved against Brighton this weekend.
