Liverpool now set to announce the deal for Chelsea star at a bargain price

According to reports, Liverpool currently thinks they may have a chance to capture Mason Mount from Chelsea for a low price.

The 24-year-old England international’s contract negotiations with Chelsea have reportedly stalled, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. However, Mauricio Pochettino’s expected appointment as manager could still be a factor.

Whilst nothing is final at this point, Liverpool could still be in the driving seat to sign Mount, with the prospect of playing under Jurgen Klopp one that could be an appealing one for the Chelsea star, who could also be up for a move to Merseyside to restart his career.

Mason Mount

Although Mount has had two tough seasons at Chelsea, the west London club may soon find themselves in a situation where they must sell the 24-year-old, in which case Liverpool will be happy to make the catch. Mount remains a fan favorite at Stamford Bridge.

There’s no denying that the Chelsea player could be a wonderful coup for Liverpool, and Klopp will be the right manager to bring the best out of the playmaker, even though a bargain price for Mount may still be north of £50m or perhaps £60m.

It sometimes happens that a player enters the market who seems to be a great fit for a certain team. This summer, in the case of Mount and Liverpool, it appears as though the 24-year-old star was born to play for the Anfield side.

Since negotiations with Chelsea are at a standstill, Liverpool may have a good opportunity to sign Mount to a deal. With a possible deal now on the table, Klopp and his team must work tirelessly to bring the England international up to Merseyside.
