Liverpool receives major injury boost ahead of the Premier League clash against Arsenal and Mo Salah and Konate return to training.

Liverpool will make the trip to Emirates Stadium as they prepare to tackle Arsenal on Wednesday in a crucial clash.

With fixtures coming thick and thin, Jurgen Klopp’s side will need to have a deep squad to get through this period, but unfortunately, the Reds have had some fitness problems lately.

Mohamed Salah will hand Liverpool a major injury boost by returning to training ahead of the Premier League trip to Arsenal on Wednesday.

He has overcome the foot injury that saw him limp out of the 2-0 win over Brighton at the weekend.

The Egyptian international picked up an injury against Brighton and sat out training at Kirkby on Monday, Salah will take part in a session before a final decision will be made on his availability for the crucial clash at the Emirates.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp gave the latest update on Tuesday evening at the pre-match conference.

When asked if Salah will be involved in the squad, Klopp said on Tuesday: “It looks like. Mo is a tough cookie. We were quite lucky with it. It was swollen and painful, and yesterday a little bit less swollen and less painful.

“Now I got the message before the press conference that Mo is ready to train and we will see how that looks.”

Klopp, though, has confirmed both Kostas Tsimikas and James Milner will miss the game through illness.

while Ibrahima Konate missed the game against the Seagulls after missing training last week.

Early on Tuesday, Konate was pictured in training ahead of the midweek clash against the gunners.

Konate has been outstanding this season, being branded ‘brilliant’ and having him fit for this game is a boost for the Reds.

Konate may not start for Joel Matip or Virgil van Dijk, but given that Matip and van Dijk have had less than great injuries in the past year, Konate’s fitness and availability will be important for the run-up.

Konate’s problems are now behind him and he’ll be able to play a key part as Liverpool look to pile the pressure on league leaders Manchester City as the title race heats up.

It has now been confirmed that Mohamed Salah will make the trip to North London after returning to training, but it looks like he’ll be a doubt in starting the match.
