Liverpool Set to seal deadline day deal after completing Luis Diaz transfer.
Liverpool are looking to follow up with their signing of Luis Diaz with a £5m future star in a reported deadline day deal.
The Reds announced the signing of the Colombian winger Diaz on Sunday with no sweating over Monday’s transfer deadline. However, they could still yet be working overtime as their business for the January window appears to be unfinished.
According to Sky Sports reporter Vinny O’Connor, Liverpool are trying to sign Fabio Carvalho from Fulham.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been linked with the 19-year-old for a number of months. He is out of contract in the summer.
And his performances in the Championship, which have been very impressive, and has attracted a number of top teams.
Anfield chiefs have submitted a reported £5million bid for Carvalho hoping to secure his services before deadline day.
Famous Journalist Fabrizio Romano has added the two clubs are in ‘concrete talks. Nothing has been agreed yet, though.
There’s work to be done over the structure of the deal. But the two do have business history, with Harry Wilson on loan at Craven Cottage this season.
The youngster is said to be attracted by the prospect of joining Liverpool. He has rejected several new contracts offers to stay with Fulham.
The cottagers are desperate to keep hold of him and his goal contributions so far this campaign makes it clear to see why.
England youth international has registered seven goals and five assists in 18 league appearances.
However, Liverpool seems to be in the driving seat and even if they can’t close a deal in the next 24 hours, they could be back when he becomes a free agent.
Former Red player Michael Thomas has urged the club to bring Carvalho to Anfield.
“Carvalho looks like a very bright talent,” the pundit told Caught Offside. “Can play with both feet and has an eye for goal.
“Klopp has already shown that he is more than happy to play young talent and with all the experienced players at the club, it is an amazing place for younger players to come and learn about everything on and off the pitch.
“He would add to the huge amount of talent who are already at the club, so definitely a good signing.”
