Liverpool target Striker with struggling La Liga team as perfect Roberto Firmino replacement
Liverpool are chasing a top LaLiga striker as a replacement for Roberto Firmino according to Teamtalk.
Jurgen Klopp is stepping up his plans for life after Roberto Firmino by targeting his replacement at Liverpool, according to reports.
The Reds’ season has been inconsistent, and on Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Bournemouth, it may have reached a new low.
And their underwhelming performance served as a clear reminder of the need for Liverpool to start a summer rebuilding effort.
Improving their midfield will be the top priority. Although Jude Bellingham continues to be their top target, they will also be looking to sign two more players. In light of this, Klopp is reportedly interested in a bunch of midfielders.
However, the first exit at Anfield this summer is likely to come in attack. That’s after famous forward Firmino revealed that he would be departing the club at the end of his contract. He will walk away as a bone fida club legend after eight, largely wonderful, seasons at the club.
And with five other strikers at his disposal, Klopp was initially not expected to sign a replacement.
However, the likes of Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are largely accustomed to playing off the wings. And with only really Darwin Nunez a recognised No 9, reports in Spain now claim Klopp has his eyes on another.
According to reports, Youssef En-Nesyri of Sevilla is the player that Klopp wants to sign. The Moroccan has made a name for himself as one of LaLiga’s top forwards.
In fact, during the course of his four seasons with the Andalusian club, the 25-year-old has scored 47 goals in 128 games. Although being frequently linked to West Ham, reports state that a transfer to Liverpool may now be in the cards.
Sevilla has had a tough time this year and is currently on the verge of being relegated. That represents a significant decline from their title pushing campaign last season. As a result, the club is prepared for its own extensive rebuild, with En-Nesyri possibly sacrificing the most.
Klopp has taken notice of reports that they are requesting a fee of approximately £30 million (€34 million). And if a compensation agreement can be reached, the 57-time MoMoroccan-cappednternational may very well be moving to Anfield.
