Liverpool told to sign £80,000-a-week star player regarded as one of Premier League best midfielder
‘Perfect for Liverpool’ – Reds legend Robbie Fowler urges Jurgen Klopp told to sign Newcastle’s Joelinton
The Reds’ season has been a complete disaster, marred by poor play and injuries, and they have little chance of qualifying for the Champions League this year.
Jurgen Klopp, on the other hand, is expected to lead the team this summer through a team overhaul, with the midfield in particular in need of a boost.
In the past month alone, the club has been linked to the like Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo, Conor Gallagher, and Mason Mount.
Robbie Fowler, a former player for Liverpool, has urged that the Reds focus entirely on Newcastle’s Joelinton rather than another midfielder.
Fowler expressed his admiration for Joelinton and expressed his desire to see the Brazilian, who earns £80,000 a week (SalarySport), play at Anfield in the future.
The former attacker stated, “I’d end too, by saying that I’m a big, big fan of Joelinton, who combines both aspects of the game I’ve been talking about,” in an interview with the Sunday Mirror.
“And [he] looks just about the identikit of the perfect player for Liverpool.”
Joelinton, who was once a laughingstock on Tyneside, has gradually grown into one of the most feared midfielders in the league and has played a crucial role in Newcastle’s ascent to the European football stage.
Michael Owen, a former striker for Newcastle United and Liverpool, even referred to Joelinton as one of the top players in the Premier League.
Owen told BT Sport: “[Newcastle manager Eddie Howe] has improved all the players that were at the club. He’s just done an unbelievable job. They were devastating against Spurs at the weekend.
“{Jacob] Murphy scored a couple, Isak scored a couple and Joelinton has turned inside out. He was a laughing stock a couple of seasons ago and now he’s one of the best players in the Premier League.
“He’s just done an incredible job. These players are all out performing at the moment and they deserve to be third in the league.”
