Liverpool transfer; €40 million-rated Real Madrid star ‘waiting’ for Liverpool approach before deciding future

Marco Asensio, a winger for Real Madrid, is reportedly interested in signing with Premier League powerhouse Liverpool amid rumors that he wants to leave Spain.

Prior to joining Real Madrid in 2014, the 26-year-old advanced through the ranks at Mallorca.

Asensio’s status at the Santiago Bernabeu has recently declined.Carlo Ancelotti used Asensio more as a utility player during the 2021–22 campaign.

Asensio started just 19 LaLiga games last season despite being in the final year of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He accrued 2110 minutes throughout all competitions, scoring 12 goals and dishing out two assists.

SPORT (via Sport Witness) reports that Los Blancos reportedly made Asensio an offer for a new contract four months ago.

However, it’s been said that the left-footed forward is “waiting to see” if a “offer from Liverpool or another team” comes this summer.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Real Madrid is willing to consider bids for Asensio between €25 million and €30 million.

The player will reduce his net annual wage expectations of €7 million, according to the report, provided a “legitimate and convincing concept” is presented to him during the active transfer window.

In contrast, AS reports that Arsenal, Juventus, and AC Milan are also vying to sign the Spain international away from Madrid (via Sport Witness).

The Reds have been quite active this summer after nearly missing out on the Premier League and UEFA Champions League crowns last season.

Darwin Nunez, a striker from Benfica, Fabio Carvalho, an attacking midfielder from Fulham, and Calvin Ramsay, a right defender from Aberdeen, have already signed with the Reds.

Despite The Liverpool Echo’s earlier assertion that the club’s summer transfer activity was complete, Jude Bellingham, a youngster for Borussia Dortmund, has since been linked to Liverpool in numerous sources.
