Liverpool transfer: Liverpool handed huge boost in pursuit of “generational talent” with rivals unwilling to pay asking price
Real Madrid reportedly won’t meet Borussia Dortmund’s asking price, giving Liverpool an advantage in their pursuit of Jude Bellingham.
Nearly every European giant has Bellingham on their desire list, and this season, he is showing them why.
Bellingham has five appearances in the Champions League and has four goals and one assist.
Despite the club’s ownership by Fenway Sports Group being unclear, the Reds are still being linked to a move for the 19-year-old.
Bellingham will reportedly be on sale by Dortmund in the summer for a price of about €150 million.
SPORT reports that Real Madrid will be “unwilling” to match that asking price and will instead aim to get the young star for somewhere around €100 million.
Speaking to BILD, Dortmund’s CEO said: “I think as soon as Qatar is over. We will have a general discussion about what he actually wants.
“With him, with his parents, with whom we have a very close relationship. And of course with his advisor.
“And then he should just tell us whether he wants to stay or whether he wants to leave. In both cases, we will have a very pleasant and reasonable discussion with each other.
“But we don’t have to pretend that the issue is not on the table. If the really big clubs are involved, then we can’t afford to have a fight financially.”
