According to reports, Liverpool has launched a bid to buy Marco Asensio of Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old Spanish player could leave Madrid this transfer window after six seasons because his contract at Santiago Bernabeu expires next summer.

The Reds, Newcastle United, and AC Milan are all interested in the Spanish playmaker, who is presently making €146,000 per week at Los Blancos, according to Super Deporte today, according to The Paisley Gates.

Since moving to Madrid from Mallorca in 2015, Asensio has made 235 appearances. Last season, he scored 12 goals in 42 games.

The 26-year-old has also assisted his squad in three Champions League victories and three La Liga championships.

In order to move to Anfield, Marco Asensio is willing to lower his salary demands. He wants to sign with Liverpool this summer.

Real Madrid is also willing to approve a transfer, reducing the winger’s asking price from €50 million to €30 million. [@Sport]

Asensio is eager to play first-team football before the Qatar World Cup later this year, with Spain being one of the favorites to win the competition, even though Madrid wants to re-sign him to a new contract.

Due to the intense competition for positions in Real Madrid’s attack, the playmaker may look to leave the Bernabeu before his contract expires in June of next year.

Given his versatility and ability to play on either wing or in attacking midfield, Asensio will undoubtedly be a welcome addition to most European teams.
