Liverpool transfer news: Liverpool target perfect Mo Salah’s replacement and Nunes to Liverpool deal
Jurgen Klopp’s side are analyzing every available option this January transfer window with the deadline day now just one week away and the Reds have made just one signing.
As the Reds approach the second half of the season, they are still looking for that crucial victory that would help them get their season off to a strong start.
With Jurgen Klopp’s team currently languishing as low as ninth in the Premier League table after 19 games played, the first half hasn’t exactly been anything to write home about.
The Reds have only triumphed in eight of them, with their most recent game ending in a woeful 0-0 tie with fellow Big Six strugglers Chelsea at Anfield.
Klopp is aware that his team needs to be strengthened before the January transfer window closes as a result of the bad performance. What matters is whether Liverpool is truly successful in securing some of the targeted deals.
Mo Salah’s Perfect replacement
It is a sequence of events that would certainly shock Anfield to its foundations, but Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb claims that Klopp is considering cashing in on Mohamed Salah and replacing him with Juventus star Federico Chiesa.
The Egyptian international has struggled at times this season, and although his seven league goals are nothing to laugh at, the fact that the most recent one was on Boxing Day shows how out of form the forward is.
Liverpool is running out of time to effectively cash in on Salah at the age of 30, and Juventus’ circumstances with their points reduction may make acquiring Chiesa easier than ever.
Salah still has a lot of potential suitors, including Paris Saint-Germain. Using the money to acquire Chiesa, a player with extraordinary skill who is five years younger than Salah and is valued at £60 million, might turn out to be a wise move.
Matheus Nunes linked with Liverpool
Liverpool interest in the Premier League star have been confirmed with initial talks already underway over the proposed signing, according to famous journalist Fabrizio Romano.
This season, Liverpool’s midfield has been the major source of problems. Additionally, Klopp needs some upgrades given that his ageing team frequently finds themselves outmatched in games.
Clearly, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita both out of contract this summer, Liverpool have room to bring in fresh faces. And with James Milner also in the final throes of his time at Anfield, Klopp is likely to target at least two new signings.
According to the Daily Express,mo Nunes has been identified as one option that could come cheaper than some of the other players Klopp’s side have been linked with.
He would certainly command a lesser fee than Borussia Dortmund superstar Jude Bellingham, while he could even come cheaper than Chelsea ace Mason Mount despite the fact the England ace has just 18 months left to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge.
It is not yet known how much Wolves would demand for a player they only signed themselves last summer.
