Liverpool transfer target Khéphren Thuram breaks silence amid links as Jürgen Klopp faces transfer dilemma

As Liverpool hunts for new midfielders, Khéphren Thuram has been linked with a move to Anfield. The Nice Star has now spoken out about the claims.

It is no secret that Liverpool is looking to bolster its midfield. The club is severely deficient in depth as a result of the departures of players like James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Jordan Henderson, along with youthful players Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, and Stefan Bajeti who excel when called upon, gigiveshe the Reds some insurance. That does not prevent improvements, though.

Khéphren Thuram of Nice has recently been linked to a transfer to Merseyside and would fit in beautifully at Liverpool. Recent rumors from the French publication L’Equipe even claim that Liverpool has ‘taken moves’ to sign the midfielder.

The 6ft 3in tall 22-year-old is a physical presence who makes an impression on the pitch. According to the football statistics website FBref, he has a 90th percentile ranking for progressive carries and successful take-ons, indicating that he likes to run at defences and does it effectively.

A Klopp squad that prefers to move the ball up the pitch swiftly would do well to add the midfielder to their lineup. Because of his size, he wouldn’t have any trouble adjusting to the Premier League either.

However, despite all the positives, it seems that the feelings Liverpool has towards Thuram are not reciprocated. Speaking at the UNFP Trophies ceremony, he said: “For now, I’m in Nice. It’s going very well. I really like the club, so I still see myself in Nice. I am very well in Nice.

“There are noises, I hear, but I’m happy in Nice. I hope to grow with this club. I would like him (Didier Digard, manager) to stay because he brought a lot to this group when it was in a difficult period.

“I don’t know if I tell him enough but he’s someone I can never thank enough. He helped me a lot in difficult times in my young career. We worked a lot together. I wish him only happiness, in Nice, or elsewhere.”

Thuram appreciates the Ligue 1 team and its manager, which is excellent, but Liverpool supporters do not want to hear this. He doesn’t seem to be interested in moving anytime soon, so Klopp might have to explore elsewhere.

Liverpool may be dealt a severe blow as a result of Thuram’s comments. With his height and physicality, the midfielder seems like a match made in heaven for the Reds’ front line.

In the long run, it may be advantageous for Klopp to reevaluate his midfielder recruitment strategy from the summer. Thuram definitely wants to grow as a player, therefore Liverpool should have a better overall offer if they decide to pursue him down the path.
