Manager tips star duo to leave amid Liverpool and Premier League rival interest
Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi has admitted that star duo Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister could both leave the club in this summer’s transfer window.
In what will undoubtedly be viewed as good news by teams like Liverpool and Arsenal, the Seagulls manager was totally open to the prospect of two of his most crucial players leaving the club.
Recently, Mac Allister has been closely associated with Liverpool. According to the Daily Mirror, the Reds are in advanced negotiations to sign the Argentina international, who looks perfect to give Jurgen Klopp’s team a boost in the middle of the pitch following a trying season.
While the Telegraph and other sources have heavily connected Caicedo to Arsenal, they also claim that teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United might still enter the contest for the 21-year-old’s services.
De Zerbi seems aware that it’s going to be difficult for Brighton to keep players of this calibre, as he told Sky Sports.
“For sure we will lose some players, maybe Caicedo, maybe Mac Allister,” he said.
We have to be ready to bring other good players (in). For [Kaoru] Mitoma and [Pervis] Estupinan, the best solution is to stay with us. I don’t know if they are ready to play with big teams.
“You have to be ready in the head and we can offer them the chance to improve.”
