Predicted Manchester United XI vs Man City: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and injury update in the Premier League

Manchester United will take on bitter rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.

United duo of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are in a race against time to be fit for Sunday’s huge derby.

Both of the forwards reported minimal training in the week before the derby due to injuries they sustained during the international break.

Erik ten Hag will at least have Antony to turn to after the winger arrived back from Brazil duty safely on Wednesday.

The United boss told reporters: “Harry Maguire is injured and I think for the rest we have some doubts.

“With Anthony Martial, he was training all week with the group so really happy with that situation. He’s performing really well. Rashford returns into training so also we are happy with that.

“For the rest, only the long-term injuries like Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams are not available.”

In defence, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez were set to start at the back regardless of Maguire’s fitness.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was forced to miss the recent Europa League victory over FC Sheriff. However, Diogo Dalot’s recent strong play should keep him at right-back.

Tyrell Malacia will need to compete with the recovered Luke Shaw for the left back position. Casemiro and Scott McTominay are vying for a starting spot in central midfield, according to Ten Hag.

Donny van de Beek (knock), Martin Dubravka (thigh) and Brandon Williams have all occupied the treatment room in recent weeks.

Predicted Manchester United XI: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia; Eriksen, McTominay; Antony, Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo.
