Ralf Rangnick set to sign £17m long term Cristiano Ronaldo replacement in the January transfer window.
Manchester United interim manager, Ralf Rangnick is set to seal the deal for potential Cristiano Ronaldo replacement according to reports.
United and Rangnick are reportedly leading the move to secure the services of the young Argentine Julian Alvarez.
The signing will be seen as a long-term replacement for club legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who just joined in the summer and is United’s top scorer this season.
The German has been given the go-ahead to upgrade his squad in January, given the Red Devils’ current struggles in the Premier League.
Álvarez plays his soccer for the famous Argentine club and enjoyed a decent calendar year in 2021 scoring 21 goals and providing 13 assists throughout the year.
The youngster has been compared to the likes of Edinson Cavani and a fit Alexis Sánchez with a bright future ahead of him.
Surely, the transition from South America to the Premier League can often be difficult for a player, especially someone so young with Alvarez at just 21, who will turn 22 at the end of this month.
If United are to sign Alvarez, Rangnick and the player would immediately be under pressure given the fans’ love for their Legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
