Reports; Antony and Lisandro Martinez have shown who Manchester United’s next signing should be
Manchester United have a dilemma upfront. Anthony Martial has been excellent when he has played so far this season, recording three goals and two assists in 133 minutes.
However, his appearances have been few due to ongoing injury issues, and he recently experienced another problem against Everton.

The second option for United is Cristiano Ronaldo, who made an impact as a substitute against Everton by scoring the game-winning goal and his 700th goal in club football.
That was only his second goal of the year, so if he doesn’t find his scoring touch again, the squad will undoubtedly suffer moving ahead.
The future of Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford beyond the January transfer window is also unknown. United and Erik ten Hag will have to think about their choices after the World Cup.
Cody Gakpo is one choice United might take into account. Manchester was frequently mentioned in connection with the Dutch forward during the summer transfer window, but no deal was ever finalized.
Gakpo has developed into a formidable force this season in both the Eredivisie and the Europa League.
The 23-year-old has nine goals and three assists in nine league games while also scoring three goals in European competition.
Gakpo is most impressive for how unstoppable it seems that his shots are. He appears to strike the ball either precisely into the desired corner or with sufficient force to negate the goalkeeper’s possibility of stopping it.
The only player who can match the Dutchman’s goal contribution rate is Erling Haaland, and given the influence the Norwegian has had at Manchester City, United may greatly benefit from having their own versatile talisman.
Regarding Gakpo, many United supporters will harbor doubts. Many players who came from the Eredivise have fallen short of expectations and of their talent.
However, this shouldn’t be a reason for alarm given how effectively both Lisandro Martinez and Antony have adjusted to life in Manchester, with the latter netting three goals in three Premier League games.
The only drawback of any potential Gakpo deal is that it will almost certainly be much more expensive than if United had signed him in the summer.
The 23-year-old has been instrumental in helping the Netherlands play well recently, and this is expected to carry over to the World Cup.
