Spanish and champions league winners Real Madrid are said to be expecting Liverpool to attempt to lure Federico Valverde away from the Spanish capital once again next summer.

This claim was made by Fichajes on behalf of the newspaper, who claims that there was an unsuccessful attempt to sign the Uruguayan during the last transfer window.

According to reports, the Merseysiders made three bids for different midfielders, including the 24-year-old, Jude Bellingham, and Aurelien Tchouameni.

We anticipate the addition of more than one midfielder given that up to three of our current midfielders may depart us in the upcoming season due to contract expirations for Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as well as the fact that both Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara are approaching the age of 30.

After Thiago returned from injury, Liverpool significantly outperformed Ajax.

However, it is questionable whether the club is willing to take a risk by investing in two high-profile transfers for the Borussia Dortmund prodigy and Valverde, who has already scored four goals in nine games this season.

Although inquiries for Bellingham were made in the midst of a £64 million deal for Darwin Nunez, it looked that there was a clear readiness to do just that this summer.

The difficulties we’ve encountered this season due to persistent problems in the middle of the park and the absence of our No. 6 due to injury should undoubtedly be enough motivation for us to participate aggressively in the market when the time is right.
