Liverpool has put in “significant work” on its transfer targets. Konrad Laimer and Ruben Neves
Liverpool has done “significant work” on two of their recruitment targets ahead of the January transfer window, despite requests from fans for a full midfield makeover.
Ruben Neves of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Konrad Laimer of RB Leipzig are two of the most prominent players who have been linked with a move to Merseyside.
The best years of their football careers are yet ahead of both guys, who are 25. After the World Cup, where Neves will represent Portugal, the Reds may be able to sign the pair as early as the upcoming transfer window, according to TEAMTalk via Liverpool Echo.
However, Laimer’s Austria was unable to secure a spot in the competition.
Neves’ contract runs until the summer of 2024 and Laimer will become a free agent next summer.
As far as Laimer is concerned, Leipzig would know the fact that they might lose him for free next summer, and hence, could possibly make him available at a cut price this January.
In 167 appearances across all competitions, he has 11 goals and 18 assists for the German club.
