Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo came face to face for the first time since his famous Piers Morgan interview.

When Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes reunited for international duty with Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar, Bruno Fernandes did not appear to be overly pleased to see his Manchester United teammate.

Following the publishing of an explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he revealed his displeasure with the club, Ronaldo has raised eyebrows.

Ronaldo attempts to shake Fernandes’ hand in a video from the Portugal camp that was uploaded to social media on Monday night. Ronaldo is left speechless when Fernandes looks to greet him in the coldest manner, although the midfielder accepts.

Fernandes just exchanges a few words with Ronaldo before turning to leave with his teammates after casting a scornful glance at the five-time Ballon d’or winner.

It is still unclear if the video has anything else outside what is immediately apparent, but it seems to suggest that Ronaldo’s remarks have not been well received by United’s players.

The first clips from the interview with Morgan began to filter out on Sunday, with Ronaldo claiming he felt ‘betrayed’ by the Red Devils, with the superstar struggling to break into Erik ten Hag’s team so far this season.

When asked whether he felt United were trying to force him out of the club, Ronaldo said: “Yes, not only the coach [Ten Hag] but the other two or three guys there around the club. Yes [at senior executive level]. I felt betrayed.

“I don’t have respect for him (Ten Hag) because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”

It is unclear whether the alleged rift between Ronaldo and Fernandes will hurt Portugal’s World Cup hopes. On November 24, the world’s top team take on Ghana in their opening match.
