Watch How Liverpool could line up against RB Leipzig in pre-season
Injuries are a concern for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ahead of Thursday’s preseason friendly against RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena.
While Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sustained a muscular injury in the most recent victory over Crystal Palace, Diogo Jota and Alisson Becker are both out with hamstring and abdominal problems, respectively. The former could return in time for the Community Shield.
Joe Gomez, who was omitted from the 2-0 victory on Friday as a precaution, has resumed training, but Calvin Ramsay, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Kaide Gordon are all coping with their own aches and pains.
Adrian should get another start in goal because Kelleher and Alisson are anticipated to sit out, and Virgil van Dijk could make a comeback to partner Ibrahima Konate at the defense.
As the start of the season approaches, Trent Alexander-Arnold might also be taken into consideration for a recall to the starting lineup, with Kostas Tsimikas continuing to man the opposing side.
Along with Harvey Elliott and Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara is a candidate to rejoin the midfield, and a talented trio might enter the final third.
Darwin Nunez might get the start up front as he looks to score his first goal for the Merseyside giants while Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah appear to be taking up the wide areas.
Liverpool predicted starting XI: Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Elliott, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Nunez, Diaz
